PUTRAJAYA, 17 Januari – Seramai 120 orang Penolong Pegawai Pembangunan Masyarakat Gred S29 (Kontrak) telah melapor diri di Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat (JKM) dan akan bertugas sebagai Pegawai Pelindung dan Pegawai Akhlak di Pejabat Kebajikan Masyarakat di seluruh negara.
Ini merupakan usaha Kementerian Pembangunan Wanita, Keluarga dan Masyarakat (KPWKM) melalui Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat (JKM) dalam memastikan perkhidmatan perlindungan kanak-kanak dapat dilaksanakan dengan optimum.
Bagi tahun 2023, diunjurkan sebanyak 372 jawatan Penolong Pegawai Pembangunan Masyarakat Gred 29 lagi akan dibuat pengambilan secara kontrak khusus untuk perkhidmatan berkaitan kanak-kanak.
Pegawai lantikan baharu ini telah diberikan taklimat dan pengenalan di peringkat Ibu Pejabat JKM serta Pejabat Kebajikan Negeri masing-masing dan mereka akan mengikuti Kursus Pengukuhan dan Pengendalian Kes Pemeliharaan, Perlindungan dan Pemulihan Kanak-Kanak bagi Pelindung dan Pegawai Akhlak.
Tujuan kursus ini diadakan adalah untuk memberikan pendedahan yang lebih mendalam berhubung Akta Kanak-Kanak 2001 dan peranan untuk menyelamatkan kanak-kanak daripada penganiayaan, penderaan dan pengabaian.
Untuk tahun 2023, JKM telah menyediakan pelan latihan yang khusus kepada Pegawai Pelindung dan Pegawai Akhlak bagi memantapkan lagi kemahiran serta pengetahuan pegawai dalam memberikan perlindungan serta perkhidmatan yang terbaik kepada kumpulan sasar kanak-kanak berdasarkan Akta serta peraturan yang berkuatkuasa.
Sejumlah 22 kursus akan dilaksanakan pada tahun 2023 khusus kepada pegawai yang melaksanakan perkhidmatan berkaitan kanak-kanak. KPWKM melalui JKM sudah menambahbaik garis panduan dan peraturan sedia ada untuk memastikan Pegawai Pelindung serta Pegawai Akhlak mematuhi garis panduan yang telah ditetapkan oleh JKM.
